Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done!

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done!

Presently there are two schools of thought about what might be happening.

Position 1. It will continue to get worse and and worse until finally Jesus comes and puts an end to the ungodliness.

Position 2. It will continue to get worse for a time then God will intervene and things will get better. They will be a renewal and people will serve God again.

Nobody including me is a fortune teller, however there are some signs and evidence leading to position 2 versus position 1.

I intend to make this post short and sweet and give you some food for thought and a few references to clear the air.

First, there is a consensus that I agree with is that a lot of our present day problems with sin in the world got a huge push from the period of the Enlightenment around the French Revolution. Those folks like Descartes and others directed many to atheism and reason over Faith in the belief in God. From the desire to push God out of mainstream we began to trust more in science than in facts and Faith in many areas of daily life that continues to this day and by and large is more prevalent. There is ample evidence of this movement away from God everywhere. If you want some let me know.

Second, God has always and will always be in charge, however He gave us free will and we are free to not know, love and serve Him. We freely turned away from God and began to worship things like science, technology and progress but not Him.

Since God has always been in charge, He has always raised up prophets and Saints and Popes to give us guidance along the way. At times He has even intervened in our affairs to give a us nudge. One example of this is the Battle of the Milvian Bridge in the fourth century where Emperor Constantine saw a Cross appear in the sky over the bridge and under the Cross were the words, "With this Sign you wll conquer." This intervention resulted in Christianity becoming the religion of the Roman Empire and spread Christianity all over Europe.

Another sign pointing us to what is to come is the writing of Saint Louis de Monfort in the 18th Century.

Here a some excerpts from his writings:

“....towards the end of the world, ....Almighty God and His holy Mother are to raise up saints who will surpass in holiness most other saints as much as the cedars of Lebanon tower above little shrubs.”

“These great souls filled with grace and zeal will be chosen to oppose the enemies of God who are raging on all sides. They will be exceptionally devoted to the Blessed Virgin. Illumined by her light, strengthened by her spirit, supported by her arms, sheltered under her protection, they will fight with one hand and build with the other.

“They will be true apostles of the latter times to whom the Lord of Hosts will give eloquence and strength to work wonders and carry off glorious spoils from His enemies.

Wherever they preach, they will leave behind them nothing but the gold of love, which is the fulfillment of the whole law.”

“They will have the two-edged sword of the Word of God in their mouths and the bloodstained standard of the Cross on their shoulders. They will carry the Crucifix in their right hand and the rosary in their left, and the holy names of Jesus and Mary on their heart.

“Mary scarcely appeared in the first coming of Christ...

But in the second coming of Jesus Christ, Mary must be known and openly revealed by the Holy Spirit so that Jesus may be known, loved and served through her.”

Another sign is the Vision of Pope Leo XIII

There are many accounts that Pope Leo XIII had a vision in which he heard God and Satan conversing. The gist of the conversation was that Satan told God he could destroy the church, at which the Lord told him to go ahead. Satan replied that he needed more time and more power.

The Lord asked how much time and how much power. Satan answered that he needed 100 years and greater power over the people of the earth.

According to one account, God gave Satan the time and the power. This took place on October 13, 1884.

He was so shaken by his vision that he reportedly passed out, and some thought he had had a stroke or heart attack, until he explained what had happened.

It was after this vision that he composed the prayer to St. Michael, which was prayed after each Mass at the foot of the altar until Vatican II changed it.

Pope Leo XIII composed the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel, asking his protection. It goes as follows: “Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him and do you, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen”

Notice the date: This took place on October 13, 1884. 33 years to the day of the First Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima.

And remember what Our Lady of Fatima said during her Apparitions, "In the end my Immaculate Heart will Triumph!"

I believe we are heading for a era of Peace after this present time of darkness. I believe it is better for us to have hope of a better future, and evidence points to that also. I further believe we will be better off praying for an era of peace than waiting fearfully for the end to come.

Finally, this is the time to pray for an era of peace and return to order.

The most powerful weapon we have is the Rosary, which is a meditation on the Life of Jesus and Mary. The Lord's prayer, which the gave to us that we call the Our Father is most powerful Think about the words, "Thy Kingdom Come, They will be done on earth as it is in Heaven!"
