What is the Prayer of the Heart Gentle Revolution all about? And what is this Second Pentecost?
It is certainly no secret that we live in a world of Woundedness and so many are searching for something more than what the world is offering.
At the same time we know that where evil abounds Grace abounds all the more, and with that in mind have to believe that God has been preparing something to bring healing into our wounded world in an awesome manner.
In this article we are going to examine some words of some Saints of the Past pointing to the future. Their words seem to be pointing directly to our times, and if so they are pointing to a Gentle Revolution or Second Pentecost or New Evangelization!
Now is the time to get excited. I have wanted to write this article for years but did not have all the pieces of the puzzle. Now in the last few months and days it has all come together and I am happy to present it to you.
Bob and Penny Lord often referred to a Gentle Revolution in their talks. In order to articulate what this Gentle Revoluton was about, first we need to lay down a little history of their walk with the Lord and some interesting events that have already happened. Hang on we will get to those events.
The Saints discovered that it was our woundedness that destroys our peace and happiness in this world. And furthermore if we do not deal with it we transmit it to others, usually to those closest to us! Keep reading we are going to reveal how to deal with woundedness.
First, what Saints inspired them? They were devoted to many Saints and there are a few that I want to highlight for the sake of this discussion and you will see how this all fits together.
Saint Pope John Paul II and the Second Pentecost
1. Saint Pope John Paul II - Inspired by his encyclicals like Mater Redemptoris. Mother of the Redeemer In this Encyclical Our Pope recommended we study to life of Saint Louis de Montfort.
While we were in Poland in 1991 many of the Priests that we met told us that wile the world was in crisis everywhere, Pope John Paul II kept telling them that a Second Pentecost was coming! And they were confused why he would suggest that when it was doom and gloom everywhere. More about this later.
Father Gobbi of the Marian Movement of Priests also provided information about the Second Pentecost in the Article #428
428. The Second Pentecost
Valdragone di San Marino, June 28, 1990
Spiritual Exercises in the Form of a Cenacle with the Directors of the M.M.P. from America and Europe
"Beloved sons, again this year I have called you up here on this mountain, to live days of brotherly sharing and of prayer with me, in a continual cenacle as was that of Jerusalem.
You are entering into the last decade of this century of yours, when the events of which I have foretold you will come to completion and when my secrets will be revealed to you. You are entering into the time of the triumph of my Immaculate Heart. You are now close to the Second Pentecost.
The Second Pentecost will come because even now, there are spread about in every part of the world, the cenacles of prayer which I have asked of you many times and with greater and greater insistence. You are here so that you
yourselves may undergo the sweet and powerful experience of the cenacle, where I make myself particularly present among you, in order that you can become apostles of cenacles in every part of the world. My Immaculate Heart is the new and spiritual cenacle, into which all the Church must enter in order to obtain the gift of the new Pentecost.
The Second Pentecost will come like a river of grace and of mercy which will purify the Church and make her poor and chaste, humble and strong, without spot or wrinkle, all beautiful, in imitation of your heavenly Mother. You are here to be moulded by me in order to become the new heart of this Church, completely renewed by the Spirit.
For this reason, you must allow yourselves to be formed by me in order to arrive at a complete change of heart. Let your heart become meek and humble, gentle and merciful, sensitive and pure. Let your heart be a chalice filled with smooth balm which runs over and flows down to close open and bleeding wounds; to comfort innumerable sufferings and sorrows; to give hope to the desperate, grace to sinners, comfort to the ailing, help to the needy, peace to the distressed, courage to the disheartened.
The Second Pentecost will come like a dew upon the world and will transform the desert into a garden, in which all humanity will run, like a spouse, to meet her Lord, in a renewed covenant of love with Him. Thus the Most Holy Trinity will receive its great glory and Jesus will restore his glorious reign of love among you.
For this reason, you must become the silent and courageous artisans of this general renewal. Take into your priestly arms this poor ailing humanity and bring it to the maternal clinic of my Immaculate Heart, that it may be healed by your heavenly Mother. You do this when you bring everyone,-priests, faithful, children, youth and families-to the consecration to my Immaculate Heart.

Saint Louis de Montfort Prophecy
2. Saint Louis Marie de Montfort - Bob and Penny Lord studied the life of Saint Louis de Montfort after reading Mater Redemptoris and in his writings they discovered his Prophecy of the the Last Days. Many times they quoted this prophecy to the groups that they spoke to over the years.
We are sure that Saint Pope John Paul II read the Prophecy of Saint Louis de Montfort about the end times and the Role of Mary during those times and could see a New Evangelization coming! Or Second Pentecost!
“....towards the end of the world, ....Almighty God and His holy Mother are to raise up saints who will surpass in holiness most other saints as much as the cedars of Lebanon tower above little shrubs.”
“These great souls filled with grace and zeal will be chosen to oppose the enemies of God who are raging on all sides. They will be exceptionally devoted to the Blessed Virgin. Illumined by her light, strengthened by her spirit, supported by her arms, sheltered under her protection, they will fight with one hand and build with the other.
With one hand they will give battle, overthrowing and crushing heretics and their heresies, schismatics and their schisms, idolaters and their idolatries, sinners and their wickedness. With the other hand they will build the temple of the true Solomon and the mystical city of God, namely, the Blessed Virgin... “
“They will be like thunderclouds flying through the air at the slightest breath of the Holy Spirit. Attached to nothing, surprised at nothing, they will shower down the rain of God’s word and of eternal life. They will thunder against sin; they will storm against the world; they will strike down the devil and his followers and for life and for death, they will pierce through and through with the two-edged sword of God’s word all those against whom they are sent by Almighty God.”
“They will be true apostles of the latter times to whom the Lord of Hosts will give eloquence and strength to work wonders and carry off glorious spoils from His enemies. They will sleep without gold or silver and, more important still, without concern in the midst of other priests, ecclesiastics and clerics. Yet they will have the silver wings of the dove enabling them to go wherever the Holy Spirit calls them, filled as they are, with the resolve to seek the glory of God and the salvation of souls. Wherever they preach, they will leave behind them nothing but the gold of love, which is the fulfillment of the whole law.”
“They will have the two-edged sword of the Word of God in their mouths and the bloodstained standard of the Cross on their shoulders. They will carry the Crucifix in their right hand and the rosary in their left, and the holy names of Jesus and Mary on their heart.
“Mary scarcely appeared in the first coming of Christ...
But in the second coming of Jesus Christ, Mary must be known and openly revealed by the Holy Spirit so that Jesus may be known, loved and served through her.”

Saint John Bosco's Dream
3. Saint John Bosco - When Bob and Penny researched the life of Saint John Bosco they were fascinated with his dreams and one in particular, dream of the great sea battle where the Ship of the Church anchored during a great storm between the tow Pillars of the Holy Eucharist and Mother Mary.
There is one dream of Don Bosco’s that Penny and Bob used in all our talks, to accentuate the focus of our ministry and what we believe has to be the direction the Church has to take, in order to survive. He shared this vision with his boys, on May 30, 1862.
“A few nights ago I had a dream. True, dreams are nothing but dreams, but still I’ll tell it to you for your spiritual benefit, just as I would tell you even my sins - only I’m afraid I’d send you scurrying away before the roof fell in. Try to picture yourselves with me on the seashore, or better still, on an outlying cliff with no other land in sight. The vast expanse of water is covered with a formidable array of ships in battle formation, prows fitted with sharp, spearlike beaks capable of breaking through any defense. All are heavily armed with cannons, incendiary bombs and firearms of all sorts - even books - and are heading toward one stately ship, mightier than them all. As they close in, they try to ram it, set it afire and cripple it as much as possible.
“This stately vessel is shielded by a flotilla escort. Winds and waves are with the enemy. In the midst of this endless sea, two solid columns, a short distance apart, soar high into the sky: one surmounted by a statue of the Immaculate Virgin at whose feet a large inscription reads: Help of Christians; the other, far loftier and sturdier, supports a Host of proportionate size and bears beneath it the inscription Salvation of believers.
“The flagship commander - the Roman Pontiff - seeing the enemy’s fury and his auxiliary ships’ very grave predicament, summons his captains to a conference. However, as they discuss their strategy, a furious storm breaks out and they must return to their ships.
“When the storm abates, the Pope again summons his captains as the flagship keeps on its course. But the storm rages again. Standing at the helm, the Pope strains every muscle to steer his ship between the two columns from whose summits hang many anchors and strong hooks linked to chains.
“The entire enemy fleet closes in to intercept and sink the flagship at all costs. They bombard it with everything they have: books and pamphlets, incendiary bombs, firearms, cannons. The battle rages ever more furious. Beaked prows ram the flagship again and again, but to no avail, as unscathed and undaunted, it keeps on its course. At times a formidable ram splinters a gaping hole into its hull, but immediately, a breeze from the two columns instantly seals the gash.
“Meanwhile, enemy cannons blow up, firearms and beaks fall to pieces, ships crack up and sink to the bottom. In blind fury the enemy takes to hand-to-hand combat, cursing and blaspheming. Suddenly the Pope falls, seriously wounded, He is instantly helped up, but, struck down a second time, dies. A shout of victory rises from the enemy and wild rejoicing sweeps their ships. But no sooner is the Pope dead than another takes his place. The captains of the auxiliary ships elected him so quickly that the news of the Pope’s death coincides with that of his successor’s election. The enemy’s self-assurance waned.
“Breaking through all resistance, the new Pope steers the ship safely between the two columns and moors it to the two columns; first, to the one surmounted by the Host and then to the other, topped by the statue of the Virgin. At this point, something unexpected happens. The enemy ships panic and disperse, colliding with and scuttling each other.
“Some auxiliary ships which had gallantly fought alongside their flagship are the first to tie up at the two columns. Many others, which had fearfully kept far away from the fight, stand still, cautiously waiting until the wrecked enemy ships vanish under the waves. Then, they too head for the two columns, tie up at the swinging hooks and ride safe and tranquil beside their flagship. A great calm now covers the sea.”

Saint Faustina and Divine Mercy
4. Saint Faustina Kawalska and Divine Mercy Devotion - Bob and Penny were introduced to the life of Saint Faustina and Divine Mercy during our trips to Poland in 1991 and 1994. I will be coming back to Saint Faustina and discussing how all this comes together.

Vision of Pope Leo XIII
5. Pope Leo XIII - Bob and Penny were influenced by the Vision of Pope Leo XIII on October 13, 1884. In this Vision he was informed of a great battle between good and evil in the 20th century and after the battle was over, God was going to pour down His Spirit almost as in a Second Pentecost. Interesting that 33 years to the day was October 13, 1917 the day the Sun danced in Fatima!

The Vision Of Pope Leo XIII
October 13, 1884
Exactly 33 years to the day prior to the great Miracle of the Sun in Fatima, that is, on October 13, 1884, Pope Leo XIII had a remarkable vision. When the aged Pontiff had finished celebrating Mass in his private Vatican Chapel, attended by a few Cardinals and members of the Vatican staff, he suddenly stopped at the foot of the altar. He stood there for about 10 minutes, as if in a trance, his face ashen white. Then, going immediately from the Chapel to his office, he composed the prayer to St. Michael, with instructions it be said after all Low Masses everywhere.
When asked what had happened, he explained that, as he was about to leave the foot of the altar, he suddenly heard voices - two voices, one kind and gentle, the other guttural and harsh. They seemed to come from near the tabernacle. As he listened, he heard the following conversation: Let us think about this for a minute. This happened in 1884. The devil said he needed 75 to100 years and some increased powers.
After the vision, Pope Leo XIII immediately wrote the Prayer to St. Michael to help us overcome the devil in his quest.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Saint Therese of Lisieux and Merciful Love
6. Saint Therese of Lisieux - Saint Therese the Little Flower of Jesus was a favorite of Bob and Penny even before they took out Pilgrimages and wrote their books. Her theology of the Little Way to Jesus influenced them greatly.

Bob and Penny were influenced by many more Saints like Saint Francis and Saint Anthony and Padre Pio and the list goes on and on. It is only natural they were dubbed, "Experts on the Catholic Saints!" They created hundreds of books and dvds on the Lives of the Saints which air on EWTN Global Catholic Television to this day.
Finally, Bob and Penny were influenced by Mother Angelica! Mother Angelica brought us to believe that we are all called to become Saints. She devoted much of her efforts to what is know known as the Universal Call to Holiness!

His writing style is so precise and he covers the next question you are about to ask about the time it comes to your mind.
He carefully explains how the Prophecy of Saint Louis de Montfort, the Dream of Saint John Bosco, the Vision of Saint Pope Leo XIII the writing of Saint Therese of Lisieux and Saint Faustina along with the writings of Saint Pope John Paul II all converge into a River of Grace and conversion of the Heart.
The end result is called the Prayer of the Heart. A simple way to bring our woundedness to Jesus and have Him heal it one piece at a time, and it works!
